Let’s talk about glasses.
I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with glasses. I mean, it’s absolutely great that they help me recognize people in public. That’s awesome. Because uh, without my glasses, everyone basically looks like faceless blobs. As an experienced spectacle wearer, I do however know that having to wear glasses isn’t always that much fun. First off, if you don’t want to wear them for whatever reason, you kind of screwed up. You won’t be able to see clear without them aside from a jumbled mass of shapes and colors. Second, you can’t wear sunglasses. Unless you have those cool ones that have your custom eye grade built into them, you’re stuck wearing contact lenses with them or are basically transported to blurrysville while wearing sunglasses. Great, ah! Then, another very pleasant thing about wearing glasses: cleaning them. I mean, they sometimes really take forever to clean! With some smudges not budging and sometimes even managing to smudge up an entire lens! And last but not least, finding the right fit, the right frame, the right lens; dude I tell you, that can be a quite daunting task. There are like a million options and you will need to replace them if they break, get them readjusted if they get loose, update them if your eyesight gets even worse, et cetera, et cetera. But okay, even with all these downsides, I can still proudly say that I like my glasses and most times, I even like wearing them 😉 Each and every single pair I’ve had throughout the years has definitely helped me see the world better and all the beauty it has to offer!
